Starting the fire

For nearly 30 years Simone and I have shared a passion for food. As life long Alaskans, our pizza journey has been a huge part of that passion. Winter in Alaska provides ample opportunity for two things; cooking and eating.

It all began with friends and family gathered around good food, long before operating a restaurant and catering company. As former youth ministers, we dished up pizza for teens from Alaska to Georgia. After six years as a Correctional Officer for the State of Alaska and Simone’s graduation from nursing school, we decided to become restauranteurs. December of 2011, in Palmer, Alaska, Humdinger’s Gourmet Pizza Co. was born.

We moved to Ohio, January 2020 to care for aging parents, now passed. We closed our restaurant in Alaska, January of 2022. Our pizza was once a staple in the small, agricultural town of Palmer. It was voted best pizza in the Mat-Su Valley 2014-2021. These same amazing pizzas are available here in Ohio.

We have catering options for your next party and two weekly take and bake options. Our goal is to capture the hearts and tastebuds of fellow Buckeyes with the same quality and selection we had in Alaska.
